Apparently our jobs are contributing to the obesity epidemic: a survey of almost 6,000 workers by CareerBuilder.com found that more than half have gained weight since their hiring date.
The culprit? Work lunches.
Some 58 percent of the surveyed employees eat lunch outside their office at least once a week... 12 percent eat out daily, and 13 percent have affairs with vending machines.
Of course, eating at your desk has hazards, too: office desks have 400 times more bacteria than toilet seats, according to researchers at the University of Arizona.

How exactly is obesity a reason for employee-sponsored healthcare? If people do not care enough about their bodies and their health so as not to overconsume to the point of obesity, employee-sponsored (or government-sponored or any other) health care will not remedy that situation.
